SV Rating: Fair Spec Value - as of December 11, 2018: Novo Resources Corp has a Fair Spec Value rating because it is the dominant force behind the Wits 2.0 Hunt in Australia's Pilbara craton. Novo is controlled 18% by Kirkland Lake and 10% by Eric Sprott who is also Kirkland's largest shareholder. As of Oct 31, 2018 Novo had $46 million working capital plus potential for another $13 million from warrants at $0.90 that expire May 4, 2019. Since 2011 Novo has worked in the Nullagine-Marble Bar area where it outlined a near surface conglomerate hosted M+I+I resource of 620,000 oz gold at 2.4 g/t. The driving force is CEO Quinton Hennigh who is behind the theory that the 2.6 billion gold oz in South Africa's Witwatersrand Basin precipitated biogenically from seawater as a result of oxygen generated by microbial algae mats that thrived in shallow water. The Wits 1.0 gold ended up in thin but laterally extensive quartz pebble conglomerate beds that grade 15 g/t. The fine-grained nature of Wits 1.0 allows core assays to outline a resource. The Pilbara area near Karratha has a history of nuggets found in gravel but in 2017 Hennigh learned they were being found in bedrock, a very coarse conglomerate unit sandwiched between 3.0 Ga year old basement and the Mt Roe basalt that flooded the Pilbara about 2.8 Ga years ago. This unit was older than the Hardey sandstone targeted since the 1950's by the unsuccessful Wits 2.0 Hunt and which hosts Beatons Creek. The nuggets are flat and up to 2 cm wide. Novo has staked and acquired over 1,000 sq km. Its focus became Purdy's Reward and Comet Well with the goal of developing a reliable sampling method that results in a JORC resource. In mid-2018 Novo concluded that sampling on a 10,000 tonne scale, effectively trial mining, was needed to establish a resource, a catch 22 problem because a mining lease requires a JORC resource. This type of nugget has been observed wherever the Pilbara basement-Mt Roe unconformity is exposed; Wits 2.0 is a reality. But for now we do not know to what extent the nuggets concentrate in sufficient grade to justify mining, and where exactly within the conglomerate unit that might be. It is a huge measurement challenge which is stalled until the regulators allow trial mining and which may take years to solve. Meanwhile Novo has shifted its focus to the marine terrace deposits in the Egina area 100 km east of Comet Well where gold nuggets eroded from the conglomerate have been reworked by wave action into conventional alluvial deposits for which established measurement methods borrowed from the diamond sector exist. The focus in 2019 will be to demonstrate cash flow potential for these marine terrace deposits. |

Key People David Graham (CEO), Robert D. B. Suttie (CFO), William R. Johnstone (Sec), |
SV Rating: Bottom-Fish Spec Value - as of December 1, 2021: Bold Ventures Inc was assigned a Bottom-Fish Spec Value rating on December 16, 2020 based on its revival under the leadership of CEO David Graham following the death of founder Richard Nemis in March 2019 and a 5:1 rollback on Feb 4, 2020. Bold is only modestly capitalized following a $436,000 FT and hard unit financing at $0.05-$0.08 in October 2020, and plans only a 5 hole 1,000 m drill program in January of 2021 on its 50:50 JV with the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nation on the Traxxin project in the Atikokan district of western Ontario. To understand why this is an interesting play it is worthwhile to understand the history of this junior. Bold listed on the TSXV on Oct 29, 2007 by IPO as a standard TSXV shell with a fake property of merit in BC which shortly after listing appointed Gary Zak as CEO. He quickly steered Bold into the Ring of Fire area play that exploded in late 2007 when Noront made what the market thought would be a Voisey's Bay scale magmatic nickel-copper-PGM discovery that proved rather small. In October 2008 Warren Irwin, disgruntled over his hedge fund's bad bet, forced Richard Nemis and his team out of Noront which has since blundered on as a market dud after a failed attempt in 2009 to outbid Cliffs for Freewest's Black Thor chromite deposit. Nemis resurfaced as CEO of Bold in August 2010 along with John Harvey as COO and David Graham has his VP. Although Bold had acquired several prospects in the Ring of Fire, including a complex deal with Fancamp on its Black Horse chromite deposit now called Koper Lake which it sub-optioned to KWG, Bold spent the past decade exploring projects in Ontario and Quebec such as Northern Superior's Lac Surprise project where First Nations relationships were not difficult as in northern Ontario. But the Ring of Fire lessons were well learned and the company has become pro-active in negotiating not just MOU's with First Nations, but forming actual joint ventures with them. In June 2017, after dropping the Lac Surprise option, Bold staked the Traxxin Extension claim to cover the northern extension of a 15 km NE splay from the Quetico Fault which runs 60-70 km east-west and is the basis for the Atitkokan camp whose most notable deposit is Hammond Reef on a splay at the western end which is now controlled by Agnico Eagle. The "Traxxin" splay structure had been evident from regional magnetics, since confirmed by IP surveys, but its gold potential was not recognized until 2016 when a prospector discovered a gold showing near Bedivere Lake. His private company Traxxin Resources Inc struck a 100% farmout deal with Benton Resources Inc which drilled 18 holes in 2017-2018 to a maximum depth of 150 m along a 300 m segment of a sheared quartz vein that yielded 1.0-37.3 g/t gold over 1-5 m intervals in almost every hole. This vein has a nugget effect which can result in spectacular grades. But Benton let the option lapse in 2020 as it focused on its PGM Escape Lake project, and in June 2020 Bold optioned 100% from Traxin on reasonable terms. When Bold staked the Traxxin Extension in 2017 it did so as a 50:50 JV with the LDMLFN, and under the terms of the area of interest clause invited the LDMLFN to join as a 50:50 partner with Bold as operator. Bold has cultivated a strong relationship with the LDMLFN which included acting as the consultant for them on the mineral potential of a 200 km by 300 km area that includes the Atikokan camp in 2019. The Lac des Mille Lacs name comes from the reservoir created in 1873 when a dam was built that flooded out the local First Nations group without a prior compensation deal. Subsequent token offers were rejected and it was not until 2017 that Canada and what is now known as the Lac des Mille Lacs First Nations reached a CAD $77 million settlement. This settlement now provides the means for the LDMLFN to pursue business developments in their territory, which includes participating in exploration projects such as the Traxxin JV with Bold which does have a dilution clause which would reduce the FN to a 1% NSR if it fails to contribute $250,000. However, so far the FN has been keen to participate in the upcoming program which has a budget of only $180,000. The upcoming drill program will test the down dip extent of the existing Traxxin Zone to assess an apparent increase of grade at depth, the sort of story Amex has popularized with its success at the Perron project. In January 2020 Bold optioned 100% of the Farwell project covering the western projection of the Iron Lake Deformation Zone within a greenstone belt that includes the Eagle River gold operation of Wesdome to the southeast which was discovered in the eighties by the Nemis team. Farwell is a fairly large property with potential for VMS deposits and iron formation related gold zones which Bold plans to explore during the summer. The main missing piece is proper financing for which the key will be the results of the upcoming Traxxin drill program. |

Key People Kevin Brewer (CEO), John Bossio (Chair), Mark G. Luchinski (CFO), Gord Zelko (VP CD), |
SV Rating: Bottom-Fish Spec Value - as of November 30, 2021: CMC Metals Ltd was assigned a Bottom-Fish Spec Value rating on November 30, 2021 based on its turnaround potential under the new leadership of Kevin Brewer who joined the board in July 2018 and two years later was handed the CEO keys after founder Michael Scholz was convicted of tax fraud. Scholz gained control of CMC in July 2005 when he vended the high grade silver-lead-zinc Silver Hart vein project in southern Yukon into a shell. CMC operated as a lifestyle junior over the next 15 years with small scale production fantasies for Silver Hart and similar mom and pop scenarios in California and Nevada. CMC did a 7:1 rollback in February 2016 and another 2.5:1 rollback in September 2018. Brewer is a geologist who has undertaken the task of scaling the Silver Hart story beyond the high grade vein development scenario first promoted in the eighties by Alvin Harter's Silver Hart Mines Ltd which became defunct in 1991. The area straddling the Yukon-British Columbia border near Watson Lake received a lot of attention during the seventies and eighties when silver-lead-zinc and tungsten deposits were discovered. The most important discovery was the carbonate replacement style Silvertip deposit on the BC side which Coeur Mining Ltd has developed as a high grade underground mine. The region now called the Rancheria Silver District is underlain by Paleozoic carbonate rocks that have been intruded by Cretaceous granitic rocks related to the Cassiar Batholith whose hydrothermal activity created silver-lead-zinc mineralization occurring as veins hosted by both rock types and replacement deposits hosted by the carbonates. The 100% owned Silver Hart property hosts several parallel NE striking veins for which a 43-101 inferred resource of 346,800 tonnes of 301 g/t silver, 4.0% zinc and 1.7% lead was estimated in December 2020. These granite hosted outcropping veins have been the primary focus of past exploration; with their 7.5 million oz silver equivalent payload far too low to bother developing. While that was fine for the sort of audience cultivated by Scholz, Brewer's challenge is to turn CMC Metals into a serious exploration junior. During the past year he has deployed geophysical surveys over the Silver Hart property to assess the potential for larger replacement style zones within the surrounding carbonates. This has generated eight new targets (T1-8) some of which can be trenched in the summer of 2022 to define drill sites. The original Silver Hart property has been doubled in size with the acquisition of the Blue Heaven claim to the south. Perhaps recognizing the mining unfriendly nature of Yukon, Brewer has increased CMC's exposure to the Rancheria Silver District by optioning 3 properties on the BC side collectively called the Rancheria South project. The Amy property 8 km west of the Silvertip Mine has a tiny historical resource associated with old workings while the Silverknife claim just 1 km west of Silvertip may host at depth overlooked chimney feeders and mantos related to the Silvertip system. Neither of these two properties is likely to deliver a discovery with standalone development potential and will be advanced with the goal of eventually being acquired by Coeur as future feed for the Silvertip mill. In late 2020 CMC optioned the Bridal Veil and Terra Nova properties in Newfoundland based on historic polymetallic Cu-Au-Ag showings for which there is no regional deposit analogue nor even a geological model. Although located within the Gander Zone east of New Found Gold's Queensway project, these prospects do not mesh well with the dream of a high grade Fosterville style gold district promoted by Quinton Hennigh. Brewer optioned them because the Rancheria district projects have a seasonal exploration window of June to October while Newfoundland allows year round work. Newfoundland has become a popular destination for resource juniors whose collective exploration activity may yield discoveries of a style not previously associated with Newfoundland whose stigma is that beyond the Buchans VMS system the mineral potential falls well short of world class. CMC is stuck at bottom-fish prices thanks to several missing pieces. The stock developed an uptrend in H2 of 2020 when Brewer took charge and unveiled the expanded vision for Silver Hart and the Rancheria district, but the uptrend failed in Q1 of 2021 thanks to a deluge of forced selling by Scholz who had converted debt into paper. Although $3 million has been raised since mid 2020 the treasury at the end of 2021 needs to be replenished. Another missing piece is that current management owns only 5.7 million shares, about 6% of 91.6 million issued, of which Brewer is the biggest shareholder. Although this is the first time Brewer is head of a junior, he does understand what it takes to promote a junior's story. CMC's Silver Hart project has attracted a European audience that may help Brewer refinance the junior ahead of the 2022 summer work season, which is the most important milestone needed to launch CMC into a speculation cycle. But for me CMC is interesting as a bottom-fish because a historical missing piece, namely a management team with a large scale geological vision, is no longer a problem. |

Delisted: Consolidated Woodjam Copper Corp was made a Good Spec Value rated KRO Favorite at $0.12 on September 16, 2020 (see Tracker Sept 17, 2020) based on the junior's plan to revisit the gold-copper Woodjam project in central British Columbia on which Gold Fields spent $25 million in 2009-2013 before selling it back to WCC in 2015. On December 31, 2020 WCC was continued as a Good Spec Value rated 2021 Favorite at $0.20 and confirmed as such at $0.16 on April 20, 2021 after completion of an Outcome Visualization for the Southeast Zone as a 30,000 tpd copper only open pit mine (see SVR Overview Tracker - April 20, 2021). Constructing an OV for the existing Southeast Zone and letting it run at the spot copper price was an eye-opener in that the deposit is robust enough to justify development as a standalone 30,000 tpd open pit mine if $4.75/lb copper is the new long term reality without significant cost inflation. Tracker April 21, 2021 is the crystallized version for that date; the Dynamic OV Version updates daily to reflect the copper price and exchange rate. The OV is based on the existing resource of 227,500,000 tonnes of 0.31% copper and operating parameters generated by Gold Fields when it defined the pit constraints for its 2013 resource estimate. At a copper price of $4.75/lb the OV using an 8% discount rate generates an after-tax NPV of USD $571 million or CAD $688 million at a 1.2051 CAD:USD exchange rate which, based on a 100% interest and 146.6 million fully diluted, translates into a future price target of $4.70 for WCC. The Southeast Zone, however, is still at the infill drilling-metallurgy stage where the 5%-10% outcome certainty generates a fair value range of $0.23-$0.47 for WCC. Should WCC deliver a PEA with numbers similar to the OV, the resulting 10%-25% certainty implies a fair value price range of $0.47-$1.17 for WCC. Should WCC receive funding to initiate a PFS, the certainty range of 25%-50% implies a fair value range of $1.17-$2.35, though the actual price range would be lower to reflect the equity dilution required to fund a PFS. The focus for now, however, is to drill the IP target about 2 km to the northeast of the Southeast Zone on the 100% optioned Megaton claim. This property was optioned late during the Gold Fields cycle with the goal of expanding the Southeast pit beyond the Woodjam claim boundary, and at the time Gold Fields did not have any geophysical data coverage for it. But the option terms insisted that some holes be drilled right away; of these only one, MT13-04, was drilled to the northeast and only intersected weak copper mineralization. However, this result indicated that the Southeast porphyry mineralizing system did extend in this direction which was confirmed when WCC completed an IP survey in 2020 to extend coverage to the Megaton claim. At a 200 m depth slice the Megaton IP chargeability high is not as intense as at the Southeast Zone, but it also revealed that Gold Fields may have been unlucky in the spot it somewhat randomly chose to drill a hole in this area. WCC plans to drill the Megaton IP anomaly to see if it has a grade similar to that of the Southeast Zone; the target footprint suggests a 50% tonnage expansion potential which would either extend the mine life from 21 years to 30 years or allow a higher operating rate. If the grade proves somewhat lower it would still enhance the long term strategic value of the Southeast Zone. WCC, which had a drill rig and crew lined up to start drilling in mid May, is still waiting for the roads in the Southeast-Megaton area to be cleared for heavy equipment traffic. An unusually warm and wet winter disrupted that plan, but things are drying out quickly and WCC expects to be drilling by the first week of June. Where exactly they spot the first few Megaton drill holes will depend on local ground conditions. The company has about $2.4 million working capital and will need to be very strategic in the design of its drilling plan. The initial goal is to establish what the Megaton target is all about; if the visuals, which would be available by late June, indicate disseminated chalcopyrite similar in intensity to what was observed in the Southeast Zone, it would signal a Southeast expansion discovery and justify additional financing to fund delineation drilling so that a new resource estimate that includes Megaton can be generated for Q1 of 2022. If early drilling indicates that the Megaton system is only weakly mineralized WCC management will need to decide if it turns its attention to the Southeast Zone to see what is needed to deliver a PEA for H1 of 2022, or return to the Deerhorn area where more work is needed to assess the gold enrichment of the Monazite A unit. My Southeast OV does not include a gold grade because Gold Fields, which estimated a 0.05 g/t gold grade, decided not to include gold in the resource estimate because of recoverability concerns. There is also molybdenum in the Southeast Zone which was not included. In addition, within the Southeast Zone there appear to be gold enriched structural zones that have not been quantified. Bill Morton and Glen Garratt need to design a program that can better quantify the gold and molybdenum content which will include collecting samples for metallurgical studies to support a PEA. Similar metallurgical work should be done with the Deerhorn zone whose ore could be blended with Southeast ore during the early years of a mine to help with payback. This is the path chosen by Northwest Copper Corp for its Kwanika-Stardust project. The key task for WCC is to develop a multi-pronged exploration plan for Woodjam that uses the Southeast Zone as a building block which attracts bigger investors interested in the copper-gold mine development scenario. Getting the stock into the $0.50-$1.00 range where a $10-$15 million financing can be done should be the primary objective for WCC during July. Unlike copper plays farther north in British Columbia it is possible to drill in the Woodjam area during Q1 when the ground is usually frozen. Instead of mounting seasonal one-shot drill programs WCC must develop a plan for year round drilling at Woodjam which at this stage qualifies for the dictum "mines are made not found". My OV indicates that the Southeast Zone deserves to be taken seriously by anybody who believes we are set for a long bull market in copper that supports the current price level. My OV does not include mill-feed from Deerhorn or any gold-moly credits so there is room for improvement. Once WCC is properly funded for continuous drilling at Southeast-Megaton it can also tackle the Megabuck-Deerhorn and Takom-Three Firs areas for more high K calc-alkalic gold enriched copper porphyry zones. This represents a bigger scale of operation than the Eastfield Group is accustomed to mounting; their normal practice is to farm out advanced exploration to bigger groups. What we are waiting for is evidence that the Eastfield Group is rising to this new challenge presented by the Woodjam project. The appointment of Peter Gianulis and Shawn Nichols to the advisory board on March 18 is reason to be optimistic, especially given that these individuals have significant WCC positions. If this all comes together WCC could be a $1 plus stock by Q1 of 2022 even if the Megaton IP target proves to be a bust. |

Key People Carl Lofberg (CEO), R. Patrick Highsmith (Chair), Janice Craig (CFO), |
SV Rating: Bottom-Fish Spec Value - as of December 9, 2021: Firefox Gold Corp has a Bottom-Fish Spec Value rating based on its strategic land position within the Central Lapland Greenstone Belt (CLGB) of northern Finland. The junior is headed by CEO Carl Lofberg who is also the Managing Director of Magnus Minerals Ltd, a private company focused on exploration in Finland since 2005. In late 2017 Magnus decided to transfer 100% of its gold prospects into a new vehicle which completed an IPO of 5,275,000 units at $0.40 in late December 2018 (the 2 year warrants exercisable at $0.60 trade as FFOX.WT). The stock dropped like a rock, dipping below $0.10 in June, possibly because of the $2.1 million raised by the IPO only $125,000 working capital remained as of the March 31, 2019 quarterly financials. Firefox owns 4 project groups within the CLGB totaling 80,000 ha, with the rest split among Agnico-Eagle which owns the Kittila Mine, S2 Resources Inc, Aurion Resources Ltd and Rupert Resources Ltd. By far Firefox has the lowest valuation of all the CLGB landholders. The southern part of the CLGB features the Sirrka Shear Zone of which Aurion controls 85 km; the northern two-thirds is farmed out to B2Gold and Kinross while it retains 100% of the Risti project at the eastern end for which Aurion has raised $40 million since early 2017 when it announced discovery of a field of quartz boulders with high grade gold. Firefox's holdings flank the Sirrka SZ except for a segment straddled by the Jeesio project. The CLGB has a size similar to the Abitibi Greenstone Belt but has had only 10 million ounces identified compared to 90 million for the Abitibi. While the Abitibi has an Archean age over 2.5 billion years, the CLGB has a younger Proterozoic age around 1.9 billion years. However, it exhibits crustal scale faults similar to Destor-Porcupine and Cadillac-Larder Lake and has similar rocks. The CLGB is underexplored relative to the Abitibi whose gold was discovered in 1909. During the 20th century exploration was dominated by the Finnish geological survey (GTK) and state owned Outokumpu, but in 2000 Finland privatized its mining assets and opened up exploration which led to the discovery of the copper-nickel-PGM Sakatti deposit by Anglo American in 2009. This led to a staking rush of the CLGB led by Anglo and SQM which tied up most of the land until 2014 when the resource sector bear market caused much of the land to come open. A handful of juniors including Magnus scooped most of the land, with Aurion acquiring a large land position straddling the Sirrka SZ in 2014 from another junior. Kittila, which GTK found during the 1980's, was acquired first by a junior and then acquired by Agnico in 2004 which turned the 7 million oz gold deposit into a 200,000 oz per year mine. Kittila is unusual in that its gold ore is refractory which is not the case with any of the other zones found in the CLGB. The speculative question for the CLGB is whether or not it has an endowment similar to that of the Abitibi which the handful of juniors will reveal if given enough money to do so. While it is unclear what Agnico is doing with its land surrounding Kittila, not much seems to have been accomplished so far by the juniors who control the rest of CLGB and their major farmout partners. Aurion has emerged as the market darling based on the idea that the Risti area hosts high grade veins similar to those in the Timmins district. During the 2018 drill season Aurion intersected short vein intervals of high grade gold at the Aumurusko target which in 2019 will be the drilling focus. The goal is to demonstrate that the high grade zones hang together so that the market can see a high grade gold deposit taking shape. If Aurion can demonstrate potential for a 1 million plus oz high grade gold deposit at Risti it will become the target model for all other exploration activity in the region. Firefox is the proximity junior which would benefit most from validation of CLGB's gold potential by Aurion at Risti. The junior announced a $0.10 private placement with a full 3 year warrant exercisable at $0.15 in early June for up to $500,000, but as of early July had managed to close only $440,000. The gold rally coupled with initial drill results from Aurion which demonstrate that last year's intersections were not a fluke generated strong market interest in Aurion's Risti story in late June which led to a $10 million upsized bought deal at $1.50. This has spurred recent interest in Firefox which has led management to upsize the financing to $750,000; it is expected to close shortly and would boost fully diluted to 50.4 million shares. Firefox plans to drill a couple holes into the small Mustajarvi property where a high grade zone has already been identified; the footprint, however, limits upside potential at below 1 million ounces. The next priority will be the Jeesio property which adjoins to the southeast of Risti and fills the gap between Aurion's Launi East and West claims, a gap which older Aurion maps incorrectly showed as owned by Aurion. The main focus at Jeesio is the Utsamo target which is about 5 km southeast of Aurion's Aamurusko target. Jeesio plans to do surface work on this target and complete an IP survey during the summer to set the stage for a fall drill program. The bottom-fish bet on Firefox is threefold: will drilling at Mustajarvi yield high grade intervals that give shape to an emerging high grade zone that will be easy to develop because it is right next to a road, will Aurion's summer drilling show that the Risti area is capable of hosting multi-million ounce high grade zones and spark an area play, and will work by Firefox on Jeesio turn the Utsamo target into a Risti lookalike screaming for a drill program funded at much higher prices? Firefox's team is based in Finland and very experienced with Finnish geology and getting things done in Finland. According to Carl Lofberg the optimal drill season in this very northern part of Finland is October to April when the ground is frozen. Where the company is not so experienced is the North American equity market and understanding the needs of its institutional shareholders such as Willem Middelkoop's Commodity Discovery Fund. But that is a learning curve management can quickly climb which meanwhile provides KRO members with a cheap bottom-fishing opportunity. |

Delisted: GT Gold Corp listed on the TSXV on Aug 28, 2014 as a PI CPC called Manera Capital Corp which completed its QT on Nov 22, 2016 by acquiring New Chris Minerals Ltd for 38,351,948 shares and changing its name to GT Gold in conjunction with a private placement of 16 million units at $0.15. New Chris owned the Tatogga project in British Columbia's Golden Triangle west of the Red Chris copper mine and the New Nanik project in central BC west of the Huckleberry Mine. Tatogga was generated through grassroots exploration which led to the discovery of the Saddle zone in an area of receding glaciers. The Saddle target consists of a gold in soil anomaly on which GT Gold plans to drill 76 shallow RC holes in 2017 followed by 22 core holes in an effort to establish an open-pittable disseminated gold deposit. GT also has an option to acquire 100% of the New Nanik Cu-Au-Ag-Mo porphyry prospect west of the Huckleberry Mine. GT Gold is headed by CEO Kevin Keough and VP Expl Charlie Greig. On July 25, 2017 GT released initial drill results |

Key People Albert J. Matter (CEO), Alexander J. Davidson (Chair), Xavier Wenzel (CFO), |
SV Rating: Unrated: NuLegacy Gold Corp has had a Bottom-Fish Spec Value rating since 2012 on the basis of the company's efforts to make a major Carlin-type gold discovery at its 100% owned Red Hill project in Nevada about 10km SE of the Goldrush deposit which the Barrick-Newmont JV is permitting as an underground with a 10 million oz resource at about 10 g/t gold. On December 31, 2020 NuLegacy was elevated to Bottom-Fish Spec Value rated Favorite for 2021 based on the expectation that drilling would deliver a Goldrush Clone discovery within the Rift Anticline target. A Goldrush Outcome Visualization based on a 3,300 tpd UG mine processing refractory ore of 25.2 million tonnes of 10.6 g/t at one of JV's roasters would be worth CAD $2.4 billion at $1,839/oz gold, which, based on 817 million shares fully diluted, would translate into a future price target of $2.91 for NuLegacy if successful. The number of shares fully diluted causes many North American investors to balk, sometimes because they are old school "tight share structure" boneheads, and sometimes because they lack the arithmetic skills to convert a very large prize into a share price target through the equation "value of prize divided by fully diluted multiplied by the net interest (1 if it is 100%). NuLegacy spent most of 2020 securing a plan of operations from the BLM which it obtained in late September. During Q4 of 2020 NuLegacy drilled 4 holes in 2 fences 1,590 m apart. Rush assays for gold were reported in mid December for the northern two holes which delivered anomalous gold mineralization within highly silicified zones while assays for the southern fence which encountered a different style of alteration in the form of decalcification are still pending. Full geochemical assays are still awaited, though XRF readings indicate high readings for arsenic and antimony, two key Carlin-type pathfinder elements. NuLegacy sold off in late December because an instant gratification oriented market failed to recognize the key accomplishment of these first four holes, namely that the stratigraphic model developed by NuLegacy on the basis of CSAMT geophysical data mapped to similar data and extensive drill log data to the east of the Rift Anticline where over $25 million has been spent without delivering a resource estimate is essentially correct. Not only is the key Lower Plate carbonate formation called Wenban5 present under a cover of much younger barren basaltic rocks to the west, but it is 175 m thick compared to the 75 m thick Wenban5 horizon that hosts the Goldrush mineralization, and it has undergone extensive fluid flow carrying Carlin-type pathfinder elements. Although the first 2 holes did not get lucky in hitting ore grade gold mineralization, the second pair to the south could yet get lucky, for the pathfinder evidence is present, and the micron sized nature of Carlin type gold makes it visible only to fire assays. The pullback enabled CEO Albert Matter to raise $12.5 million during the second week of January which brought new shareholders on board and boosted the drilling warchest to over $18 million working capital. Full geochemical assays are expected in early February which will form the basis for a followup vectoring drill program in late March or early April. To be clear, no discovery has yet been made, but the initial drill holes have demonstrated the validity of the Rift Anticline hypothesis developed through peripheral data interpretation and applied to a part of the property paved over by barren volcanics much later than the time window during which Carlin type deposits formed in northern Nevada. To fully appreciate this story it is worthwhile to consider how this play evolved. Albert Matter optioned the Red Hill project from Barrick in late 2010 with a right to earn 70% by spending $5 million by the end of 2015, at which point Barrick had the right to claw back 70% by spending $15 million over the next 5 years. Barrick declined the clawback and agreed to sell its resulting 30% stake to NuLegacy for 32 million shares in early 2016. The initial focus led by Roger Steininger was a zone of low grade oxide mineralization known as the Iceberg North and Central zones in the eastern part of the property, which expanded to testing the Avocado target under the basin gravels to the north, and the more promising Serena zone to the west. After spending more than $20 million at Redhill without delineating a zone that could be construed as a mineable orebody, Albert Matter hit the reset button and in late 2017 and hired Charles Weakly as district geologist with a mandate to rethink the geology. Weakly, known as the "gold finder", had worked at Barrick in Nevada since 1986 and brought a deep understanding of Nevada geology to bear, including the new idea that low angle rather than high angle faults are key to delivering the Carlin fluids into the Lower Plate structural traps that produce orebodies. The problem with the Iceberg and Serena zones, although they delivered good intersections, was that the mineralization did not hang together well. During 2018 Weakly, who brought other ex-Barrick technical people into the fold, undertook a detailed relogging of the drill holes and digitization of all the information generated by Steininger's team. He also drilled a number of "scout" holes, including the Western Slope "Rift" hole which established the depth of Lower Plate rocks beneath the volcanic cover rocks. What emerged was a new understanding of the stratigraphy and the presence of low angle faults from the west whose intersection with north-south high angle faults generated localized pockets of gold mineralization. He was also able to break the Wenban carbonate formation into its 8 units and peg the location of Wenban 5, the key host rock for Barrick's Goldrush and Fourmile gold zones. This explained why the Iceberg zone could only be portrayed as a bulk tonnage zone with a grade of 0.5 g/t or less and a tonnage footprint with less than 1 million oz potential. Rather than being the tip of an iceberg, this area was more like a plume of exhaust coming from the west. The Serena zone to the west of Iceberg, so promising initially that Albert named it after his daughter, had wedged out because of an east-west high angle strike slip fault. Weakly was able to correlate the known geology in the Serena-Iceberg area with a CSAMT ground geophysical survey that also extended to the western limit of the Red Hill property where surface work had identified the potential for a structurally controlled epithermal system related to the Northern Nevada Rift called VIO. His new ex-Barrick team which soon included Ed COpe and eventually Mark Bradley, worked up a 3D stratigraphic model to a depth of 1,000 m for the 3 km western part of Red Hill that had no drill holes and was covered within barren volcanics. The key was tracking the depth, thickness and location of the Wenban 5 formation. The Rift Anticline Hypothesis says that beneath a veneer of barren post-Carlin basalt there is a 6 km sequence of Upper and Lower Plate folds whose anticlinal spines are ideal locations to host a brecciated, elongated body like the Goldrush deposit which extends within a similar 7 km long geological setting. They put together a USD $3.5 million exploration program for 2019 which caused poor Albert Matter to blow a fuse because he only had CAD $1.5 million left. He persuaded Alex Davidson to become chairman while he took on the CEO role and suspended all exploration work which caused the stock to tank from a dime to $0.03. But as the gold market strengthened he decided in September it was time to put the ex-Barrick team back to work, which he accomplished with a PP of 100 million units at $0.075. NuLegacy, however, encountered a major obstacle to testing the Rift Anticline target. NuLegacy had secured 3 "notice of intent" (NOI) permits for the Red Hill project, each of which allowed 5 acres of disturbance, a limit that has been exhausted by past drilling focused on the low grade Iceberg system which the new ex-Barrick management team characterizes as an "exhaust plume" from a much bigger system hidden under post-Carlin basalts and volcanics that obscure the western part of the property. Had NuLegacy poked a couple holes into the area now defined as the Rift Anticline target, drilling would have been possible in early 2019. But to drill that target the BLM required a plan of operations which, once granted, would allow NuLegacy to swiss-cheese the Rift Anticline target. So the drill program in late 2019 was only able to test the Fourmile Lookalike target in the western part which it killed, and several holes to the east in the Western Slope and Serena areas which proved inconsequential. After the covid-19 lockdowns began and NuLegacy hunkered down to wait for the PoP, Matter recruited Quinton Hennigh to do a deep dive into the Rift Anticline target. Hennigh emerged very enthusiastic and helped NuLegacy do another 75 million units at $0.075 on the premise that even though the hypothesis is sound, these targets have so much local complexity from faulting and a tendency to be deeper than expected that drilling to achieve a discovery will be more expensive the experts predict. That brought the treasury to $8 million as of September 30 when the BLM granted the PoP and NuLegacy drilled the first 4 holes into the Rift Anticline target. The drilling confirmed the geological model, a major milestone supporting the hypothesis that a Carlin-type deposit similar to scale Goldrush is possible, with the bonus that the prospective Wenban5 formation has more than double the thickness it has in the anticline that hosts the Goldrush deposit. The question to be answered in 2021 is whether conditions where right within the Rift Anticline for gold mineralization to replace the Wenban5 carbonates where they are cut by high angle faults that channeled upwards the Carlin-type fluids traveling westwards along low angle paths that petered out in the Iceberg-Serena area where the Wenban5 formation thinned out. The stock is open to two speculative market waves in 2021, the first occurring when ore grade gold mineralization is encountered, which could start early February if NuLegacy got lucky with the two southern fence holes, otherwise not before June when we could expect the first assays from resumption of drilling in Q2 of 2021, and the second wave erupting when followup drilling demonstrates that the initial discovery hole is part of a big zone rather than a local pocket of mineralization. Because Carlin-type visuals only allow two modes of eyeball assays - hopeless and hopeful - it could be September before the second wave is possible due to the spacing of the Q2 vectoring grid. On the plus side, it will take all year to kill the Rift Anticline Hypothesis and empty the fuel tank. |

Delisted: Bridgeport Ventures Inc went public on the TSXV on October 9, 2009 with a $0.20 IPO based on the McCart gold prospect in Ontario. Within a month Bridgeport had raised $13 million through a $1 private placement in which Hugh Snyder and Wayne Beach participated, and optioned a copper project in Chile that became the exploration focus until October 2010 when Bridgeport acquired Fronteer's non-core Nevada exploration portfolio for 4.5 million shares. This was followed by another $15 million financing at $1 to fund a 30,000 m drilling program for the Nevada prospects. However, by October 2011 Bridgeport suspended work on the Nevada prospects, dropped the Chilean options due to poor results, and declared itself to be looking for an advanced copper-gold project in the Americas while seeking farmouts for the Nevada properties. Bridgeport is headed by CEO Shastri Ramnath. In June 2012 the company announced it would be merging with Premier Gold's subisdary Premier Royalty Corp where Premier Gold will finish with a 60% interest in the company. In August 2013 the company announced it would be acquired by Sandstorm Metals on the basis of 0.145 of a Sandstorm share for each Premier Royalty share held. |

Delisted: Probe Mines Ltd, headed by CEO David Palmer, is focused on the 100% owned Borden gold project in the Kapuskasing area of Ontario southwest of Timmins. Borden was a 2010 grassroots discovery for which an open-pittable resource of 4.3 million ounces at 0.5 g/t cutoff was reported in 2012. In late 2012, however, the exploration focus shifted to a new style of Archean lode mineralization at the eastern end of the Borden zone which had a significantly higher grade. The High Grade Zone (HGZ), which is an underground mining target, had been traced for 1,100 m as of the end of 2013 and is the focus of a winter ice drilling campaign during H1 of 2014 to test an additional 1,000 m of potential strike. An initial resource estimate is expected in Q2 of 2014, followed by a PEA in Q3, which would form the basis for an underground drilling campaign as part of a PFS for an underground 2,000-3,000 tpd mine. In the Ring of Fire region of northern Ontario, Probe owns the Black Creek chromite project with a resource of 8 million tonnes grading 40% Chromium (7.4 billion pounds). The possibility that Cliffs might eventually buy Black Creek has diminished since Cliffs suspended development work in 2013 due to the failure of the government to address First nations and infrastructure issues. |

SV Rating: Bottom-Fish Spec Value - as of December 1, 2021: Alianza Minerals Ltd has a Bottom-Fish Spec Value rating based on its emergence as a competent prospect-generator that generally farms out its projects but is also not afraid to conduct drill programs on 100% owned projects if needed to make them more marketable for farmouts or when the targets represent low hanging fruit. Alianza is headed by executive Chairman Mark Brown, who runs the business side of the company, and CEO Jason Weber, who emerged from the Equity consulting group that specialized in northern British Columbia and the Yukon. The current flagship is the Haldane project south of Victoria Gold's new Eagle heap leach gold mine and west of Alexco's Keno Hill high grade silver mine. Although Haldane has the same Keno Hill quartzites which host Alexco's high grade silver veins, with several north-south striking lead-silver veins on the southern side of Mt Haldane which underwent very small scale mining during the 1920's, the area has not seen anywhere near the degree of exploration as the Keno Hill district which yielded 200 million ounces silver at an average grade of 44 opt from 1913 until 1989 when costs finally over-ran metal prices. Alexco revived the KHSD in 2006, operated Bellekeno from 2011-2013, discovered several new high grade zones, and is awaiting a final permit by the end of 2019 in order to resume production. Alexco also had drilling success in 2019 and has performed very well in what amounts to the 8th year of a resource junior bear market. Mt Haldane always represented high-hanging silver fruit, which is why it was available for Alianza to option in 2018 on easy terms with only a dozen holes into it, most of them earlier this decade by a junior whose shareholders got what you get when you chomp into an haberno. Alianza has not marketed Haldane to partners, choosing instead to spend $1.1 million on exploration, including $800,000 in 2019 on 4 drill holes for which results are expected in October. The challenge at Haldane is that deep weathering in this unglaciated terrain makes it difficult to track on surface the lead-silver veins which occur as a cluster, blossom as high grade shoots, and have undergone local fault displacement. Geophysical surveys have not been attempted because they have not been overly effective at Keno Hill. Alianza has undertaken soil sampling as a tool to identify additional mineralized structures outside the main vein system. In 2019 Alianza drilled 4 holes totaling 923 m. One was a 350 m hole on the Bighorn soil anomaly in the western part of the property which has confirmed the presence of a sulphidic breccia body which surprised management but could become an important new focus in 2020. The second hole tested the Ross soil anomaly covering the projection of the Middlecoff vein under the older Highland Group phyllite which the Robert Service thrust fault pushed over the Keno Hill quartzites from the south before the mineralizing event occurred. This hole delivered unexpected geology. The other two holes were drilled in the Middlecoff zone to test the vein along strike and down-dip from the same drill pad. This hole was designed to help better understand the local fault architecture. For now Haldane will remain the flagship because silver is trending higher, Alexco is putting the market spotlight back on the Keno Hill Silver District, and Alianza has both a new target at Bighorn and a plan on how to drill the main vein system, one that will depend on a better market appetite for such discovery plays than exists in Q4 of 2019. The other important Yukon play is the Tim project near Coeur's new Silvertip zinc-lead-silver CRD style mine in which Coeur can earn up to 80% by funding a positive feasibility study within 8 years. However, no work will get done until the summer of 2020. The main reason for Alianza's bottom-fish spec value rating is its portfolio of 3 Carlin-type projects in eastern Nevada which Hochschild Mining plc, the Peruvian silver producer, optioned in Q1 of 2019: Horsethief, Bellview and BP. These are part of a portfolio Alizana acquired in 2015 from Sandstorm which originally came via a circuitous route from Jerry Baughman, one of the key people behind Ely Gold Royalties. The deals are weak in their first year spending commitment and allow Hochschild to go to 70% by spending USD $10.5 million, $7 million and $5 million respectively over 7-8 years. However, Hochschild has spent its first year requirements which includes $500,000 on Horsethief for which Alizana has proposed a 2,500 m drill program that could get done in late October to mid December but probably will not be started until June 2020. Horsethief boasts a number of jasperoids within outcropping carbonates that past operators have drilled with anomalous results, but Alianza's main target is an IP chargeability high in the southern part it calls Mustang. The Mustang target is covered by post-Carlin volcanics, but flanked by the HT South jasperoid in carbonate to the southwest and the smaller Stallion jasperoid-carbonate window to the northeast. Thanks to the karsted nature of the carbonates in this area Alianza thinks a Carlin-type deposit similar to Long Canyon lurks at depth within this 2 km by 2 km undrilled target area. Although Hochschild has made a timid entry into Nevada, it now has a year under its belt becoming familiar with this region, and is no doubt paying attention to the spotlight Barrick is putting on Nevada's gold potential with its Nevada Gold Mines JV with Newmont. Alianza has 82 million shares issued and 125.7 million fully diluted which management claims are well held, but it did complete a private placement of 13,820,000 units at $0.05 in early July with a full 3 year warrant at $0.10 that comes free trading in late October or early November. In addition it did 6,908,333 flow-thru shares at $0.06. Six Canadian brokerage firms paced this paper with 63 parties including 11 brokers who took 5,443,000 (units?). Given the propensity of brokers to encourage their clients to clip the warrant and flip the stock so they can roll the proceeds into another high commission private placement, this is not what I would characterize as a tight structure. However, I am not a fan of tight structure based stock manipulations, so I think Alianza offers excellent bottom-fish spec value for anybody seeking a junior with a potentially significant Yukon silver project the company for now is keeping to itself, and for exploration drilling in 2020 on possibly up to 3 Carlin type targets in Nevada by a major eager to establish a presence in the world's most prolific gold mining jurisdiction. |
