Kaiser Media Watch Blog - September 1, 2017 to September 30, 2017
Kaiser Media Watch Blog enables John Kaiser to share online content from other media he deems interesting or relevant to Kaiser Research Online audiences. He collects links to such content and writes a brief explanation. The KMW Blog gets updated during the evening KRO update. After a week or so the current KMW Blog gets archived and a new one is started. Tweets are sent with a link to the item in the KMW Blog when it is of particular interest. Right clicking the JK header allows one to share or copy a link directly to that specific blog post.
Discovery Watch is a weekly 15-20 minute audio show sponsored by HoweStreet.com where Jim Goddard interviews John Kaiser about resource juniors with interesting exploration plays that have caught John's attention. The projects will not be limited to companies he has covered as Bottom-Fish and Spec Value Hunter picks. He will briefly describe each project's goal and its timeline. These projects will generally be exploration plays that have not yet turned into a discovery. The objective of Discovery Watch is to alert audiences to the existence of earlier stage exploration projects before they become big discoveries. Jim and John will periodically circle back to review the outcome. Should one of the projects deliver a discovery Jim and John will monitor that discovery on a more frequent basis. KRO will keep track of projects mentioned through Discovery Watch with HoweStreet.com which will keep a running tab of Discovery Watch projects that includes links to the KRO profile for each company and project.
Novo Resources Corp managed to pull off the technical challenge of piping live video footage all the way from the Purdy's Reward project near Karratha in Western Australia onto the web through a YouTube account and into the Denver Gold Forum on Monday September 25, 2017. The stock had run to about $5.50-$5.60 during the morning before pausing to see what Quinton Hennigh had up his sleeve. In the subsequent 2 hours of trading the stock's volume doubled and the price ran to a high of $6.69 before settling back to close at $6.50 for a $1.39 gain.

On September 15, 2017 I gave a presentation at the Metals Investor Forum in Vancouver where I presented the case that Novo Resources Corp could be the key to the Bre-X Redemption which launches the biggest discovery exploration boom the resource junior sector has ever experienced. The key will be whether the gold bearing beds outcropping on the Purdy's Reward and Comet Well properties are just a "local freak show" that eventually establishes a fair price for Novo in the $5-$10 per share range, or the edge of an extensive system that stretches laterally for hundreds of kilometres and downdip a hundred kilometres that is comparable to the Witwatersrand Reefs in South Africa where 1.6 billion ounces have been mined since discovery in 1886 and where at least another 1 billion ounces remain but at depths where mining feasibility is rapidly diminishing. In my talk I state that it will take at least 6 months before Novo can demonstrate the Wits 2.0 hypothesis because the downdip extent exists on claim applications it will take that long to get granted. Since then QH has informed me that approvals have started coming in, which means that stepout drilling and possible validation of Wits 2.0 could happen a lot sooner. My recommendation to the audience was that retail investors take the plunge by buying a mere 1,000 shares just to be on board if indeed Novo has made the biggest discovery ever by a junior, a discovery that takes the stock beyond $50 if not swallowed prematurely by a major. And it does not matter if investors choose to stay on the sidelines, though they may want to hedge by buying one of the discovery exploration juniors that presented at MIF, for if Novo delivers Wits 2.0, the appetite for good exploration juniors will be absolutely ravenous, both from Novo shareholders suffering seller's regret and new money attracted by the idea that talented innovative juniors can make huge discoveries. The first four companies are SVH or Bottom-Fish picks which presented in my session (InZinc, Nevada Expl, Camino, Inventus) and with whom I afterwards also conducted brief interviews intended to tease out inisghts beyond what the speaker could squeeze into the 10 minute limit of the formal presentation. That is followed by three bottom-fish picks of which two presented during Jordan Roy-Byrne's session (Defiance and VR Res) and one in Eric Coffin's session (Colorado). The final three presentations are by juniors I have featured as Discovery Watch candidates, two of which are Gwen Preston picks (GT Gold and Aben) and 1 an Eric Coffin pick (Vendetta).
