The April-May issue of ResourceWorld Magazine has an article on pages 16-18 by Editor Ellsworth Dickson that summaries key problems John Kaiser has identified as undermining the viability of the publicly listed canadian resource juniors in The Four Structural Changes that are Killing Canada's Resource Juniors - Dec 11, 2015. The article finishes with concerns expressed by Dr. Kurt Kyser of the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering at Queen's University about the effect a diminished junior resource sector will have on the ability of Canada's post-secondary education system to attract and train the mining industry professionals sought by both Canadian and international mining companies. The juniors have historically functioned as an important training platform for individuals that bigger mining companies raid for their personnel. Kill off the juniors, and the job prospects for graduates missing field experience evaporate. Deter students from seeking a geology-mining oriented education, and there will be a lot fewer professionals and technicans. The resource junior eco-system is far more important to Canada's identity than most people imagine.
