Altoro
Altoro Gold Corp (ATG-V: $0.33) has announced a private placement of 3,434,783 units at $0.23 that will be taken down by insiders who just sold 3,000,000 shares to a new group but together by a Haywood broker. The proceeds will fund a trenching and drilling program on the Pedra Branca platinum-palladium prospect in Brazil that should be underway by late October. The new shareholder group is apparently unrelated to the Rick Rule network that has been on board since Altoro's launch in late 1996. There are signs that Ross Beaty is taking on a more active role in Altoro. News that Microsoft's Bill gates has invested $15 million for a 10% stake in Beaty's Pan American Silver should do wonders for Beaty's clout. Platinum and palladium prices have sprinted ahead on gold's coattails. Bottom-fishers should not wait any longer to buy Altoro.
